Wild Cockatoos in Hong Kong - You'd better believe it!

One of the things I love most about walking Prince PTT to school is when we spy one of the wild Yellow Crested Cockatoos. It's like a little piece of Australia smiling at us from Hong Kong. Look! Here they are today!

Can you spy one in the middle of this photo? Prince PTT's school is the short building on the left in front of residential skyscraper. His playground is under a sun sail on the roof...

The story goes that Hong Kong Governor Sir Mark Aitchison Young released Government House's entire bird collection – including a large number of Yellow-crested Cockatoos – hours before surrendering Hong Kong to Japanese troops in December 1941.

Don't tell me that you don't learn anything from PTT!

Yours,
